Manual Robotics Workshop Photos
The photo's of the manual robotics workshop conducted at SIT, lonavala are available online here at the RoboGallery Robotics :: Indian PerspectiveRobotics in India is surely on an upward graph. "A robot is a machine designed to execute one or more tasks repeatedly, with speed and precision"The extent of the spread of robotics in india can be guaged by the frenzied responses by young engineering students to local robotics competitions, as well as the hosting of the ABU Asia-Pacific Robocon competition at MIT college Pune.So is robotics in India finally coming of age? Well it seems more like a case of quantity over quality. We Indians always seem to be late-starters when it comes to technology. While world over the trend is towards creating better automated robots, robots that think and have a mind of thier own, Indian Engg. students still seem to be grappling with wires and remotes building remote controlled "robots" which more likely resemble toy cars. Its just that we aren't really going anywhere riding on our sucess at such competitions, its time to step-up to the potential of robotics. Time to look at robotics as a possible career options, companies are soon realizing the importance of automation and it alreaddy is a happening field. Time to see your hobby grow own to be your career. All of this is going to be covered in this site. Quite a few good colleges have cropped up which offer courses on robotics, even private institutes have cropped which provide training all this does signify a change on the anvil. All said robotics seems to be going through a similar phase as the IT industry did in the 90's. Those starting early are top performers. so its Time to change, bring robotics to the mainstream.
